Rituals of Spring

My throat is itchy as all get out these days (thank you, pollen), but I still wouldn’t trade spring for anything. It’s rainy today and will be a few days this week; the sunshine is my favorite, but I suppose it’s only fair to acknowledge it must rain sometimes for the beauty of my favorite seasons to really shine. Today’s post is composed of just a random collection of things I like that remind me of spring, of slowing down just a bit. The beeswax wrapping at Terrain made me smile a couple of weeks ago, as did the thought of focusing more time on my calligraphy this summer (thank you, Maybelle!). The wooden spoons just make me want to eat gelato daily. And so on. My seniors are antsy to finish upper school, aching to move on to the next phase of their lives. I’m antsy to enjoy some slower times when I needn’t be on call constantly. And we’re all looking forward to long days of sunshine, some time in the water, and any excuse for fresh peaches.
