Early Summer Light
I love this time of year when I can arrive home from work and still enjoy a few hours of sunlight. The late afternoon Western light is so pretty, and the shadows and dappled light images lead me to pick up the camera nearly every afternoon. The white measuring cups and pitchers are from Sophie Conran at Terrain, and the rest of the images are just of everyday things around my home: a linen dress and sweater drying on the shower rod, some baby’s breath (and earlier roses) on the dining room table, a small stack of things awaiting a friend’s dinner arrival, and 5:30 p.m. sunlight through the front window curtain. I wish I could bottle this light for the rest of the year. (all images via Jill Lauck, taken with iPhone 4S)
