Summer Girl (2)

Summer for my students began several days ago, but summer for faculty officially began today. Though I work year round, I love enjoying the longer light of summer, free Fridays, and a little bit of time to bake, to read, to enjoy the sunshine. When I first saw the Let’s Have a Great Summer post on Pinterest several days ago, I couldn’t get the old song “School’s Out for the Summer” out of my head (it’s stuck there again now that I’ve written about it…will I never learn?). And I wish for you all (at least those whose seasons are the same as mine!) a most lovely and relaxing and joyful summer. I’ll be here all the way through, but it’s fun to think about playing hooky once in a while to get some lemon water ice or gelato. Or to go to a baseball game (go Red Sox!). Or to just sit with my feet in the water. Summer, I love you.
